GLAZA ANNUAL FUND

by Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association

While the world slowed to a crawl, the L.A. Zoo used the pandemic year to make a huge leap forward. Recognizing the rise of two urgent threats to our communities, rampant biodiversity loss and social inequality, the Zoo created a bold, first-ever Conservation Strategic Plan (CSP) that brings the Zoo’s unique strengths and expertise to bear on these challenges.

At its core, the CSP is a pledge to protect plants, animals and the habitats we share through actions that also advance social and environmental justice. The goal? Creating a just and sustainable world where people and wildlife thrive, together.

The focus is on big challenges, including expanding the zoo’s leadership role in the protection of California wildlife, growing efforts to combat the illegal wildlife trade, and uncovering solutions that benefit both wildlife and people.

GLAZA led the effort to provide the seed funds to make the Conservation Strategic Plan a reality. This is what we do to provide our partner, your Los Angeles Zoo, with the resources to make their dreams a reality.  Moving the plan forward will take a collective effort from all of us, working together to drive change.

This past year, your generosity made a huge difference in our effort to bring back the zoo experience you know and love. You invested in GLAZA’s survival through some very trying times… your gift now is an investment in the future of GLAZA, the L.A. Zoo, and a better future for all of us.

I can’t thank you enough for all you do, and all you have done, for the GLAZA and the L.A. Zoo!

Gratefully,

Tom Jacobson
President, Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association
